How Long Does Lip Filler Last?

Lip filler duration depends on the product type and your body. Lip fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that loves water. The hydrophilicity of HA fillers helps to volumize the lips. The more you take care of your lips and the less strain you put on them (fewer straws, less pressure on the lips), it may help the lip filler last. The fillers manufacturers would say that most lip fillers can last up to six-twelve months. However, you can increase this duration by stacking filters on top of each other with multiple syringes over time and being careful not to create migration or a Marge Simpson aesthetic. In addition, if you add too much filler in a short period, you can run the risk of lumpy bumps and protrusion of the lips, which makes you look like you have fish lips. The filler type also affects the duration for which it’s going to last. One of the best ways to take care of your lips is hydration/water intake, as most fillers love water. And even more important than that is having the right lip filler expectations. Remember that it’s only 1/5 of a teaspoon, so your first syringe will mainly be for hydration, not for significant modification. If you want substantial change, we recommend stacking the filler and adding more 2 to 3 months after your first injection. This can help you reach your goal of fuller lips and enhance the duration of the product. Once you get to your desired fullness, you may have to add more every year but maybe not the whole syringe; you could get away with less product as time goes on.
