Botox can last depending on three things:
- Your Body
- Your Choices
- Your Budget
If you are going to an ethical location, and it’s true Botox/Dysport- it is not bought on the black market, and you are getting the appropriate dose, the manufacturers would say that Botox/Dysport can last 3 to 4 months.
When I say that it’s dependent on you, we often get people saying that they like a light dose or are on a budget, which limits the ability to do the recommended dosing. If someone is willing to do the manufacturer dosing, which is 64 units in the upper face alone (11’s, forehead, and eyes), it should last 3 to 4 months. Add a lip flip, chin, masseters, or neck; you want to double-quadruple the dose.
Botox is a protein metabolized by your body. Ultra-fit runners or highly expressive people will eat through this much faster than a sedentary person. We have seen cases where people respond less to Botox after vaccination, recent illness, or if they’ve been on one product such as Dysport for a long time.
Although we wish it were a one size fits all for Botox, it simply just is not. And remember, if your budget limits you, you may have less duration and overall satisfaction with your results; as a general rule, dose equals duration.
