BBL HEROic

Fade Sun Spots, Clear Acne, and Calm Redness. One Light, Tuned to Your Skin

Serving Greater Sacramento in Rocklin, CA

BBL HEROic targets what your skin actually needs.

Most people call it a photofacial. That undersells it. The BBL HEROic uses broadband light your provider can tune, and a different setting goes after a different target. The same handpiece that fades your sun spots can calm your acne, quiet your redness, or smooth your texture. We pick the settings that fit you.

At Be You Medical, we offer complimentary consultations to make sure this treatment is right for you and to build a plan around your skin. For a contact-free consultation, text 916-223-9361 today. What BBL HEROic Treats

You have five settings to choose from. We'll recommend the one, or combination, that matches your skin best during your consultation.

Forever Young

Best for: sun spots, freckles, uneven tone, dull skin, redness. Time: 15 min face / 25–30 min face, neck & chest. Sessions: 1–3, then 1–2x per year. Downtime: little to none; spots darken and flake days 5–7.

Forever Young is the one most people come in for. It goes after brown spots, sun damage, uneven tone, and redness at once, and nudges your skin to behave younger over time.

Forever Clear

Best for: active acne, inflamed breakouts, back and chest acne. Time: 20–30 min full face / 5 min spot treatment. Sessions: 4–6 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Downtime: very little; redness for a few hours.

Forever Clear layers light to target acne-causing bacteria, calm the inflammation underneath, and support healing without a prescription or a months-long ramp-up.

Vascular

Best for: broken capillaries, cherry angiomas, rosacea redness, red scars, stubborn bruises. Time: 1–5 min for a few vessels / up to 30 min full face or chest. Sessions: varies by severity. Downtime: very little.

Vascular targets the tiny blood vessels sitting close to the surface. Some redness isn't a flush, it's vessels you can see because they're there.

SkinSmooth

Best for: fine lines, rough texture, dull skin, light brown spots. Time: 20–30 min. Sessions: varies. Downtime: basically none.

SkinSmooth is our gentlest option. It brightens and smooths without breaking the surface, which makes it a good pick before an event or between bigger treatments.

BBL Body

Best for: sun damage on chest, arms, hands, legs, back, belly. Time: 5 min neck / 10 min chest / 15–20 min arms / 30 min legs. Sessions: varies by area. Downtime: little to none.

BBL Body runs the same light over larger areas. If you've spent your life outdoors, your chest and the backs of your hands usually tell on you first.

Born with a red birthmark? Please book a consultation rather than a treatment. Some vascular birthmarks are better handled by a specialist, and we'll tell you honestly if that's your situation.

Looking for firming instead of color correction? That's SkinTyte. It runs on the same BBL handpiece but uses heat to target loose skin rather than light to target pigment. Learn about SkinTyte.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a BBL HEROic the same thing as IPL?

They're related. Both use broadband light. BBL HEROic is a newer, more precise version. Your provider can tune it more finely and cool your skin while it works, which means we can push the settings harder without making you uncomfortable. We offer both. At your consultation, we'll tell you which one fits your skin and your budget. Learn about IPL.

What happens during a BBL HEROic treatment?

We take photos first, every time. Skin changes slowly and memory is unreliable, so photos are the only honest way to show you it worked. Then we apply a cool gel and give you eye protection. During the treatment, the handpiece moves across your skin in pulses. Most people describe it as a warm snap, like a rubber band. The tip is chilled, so your skin stays cool while it works. No numbing needed for most areas.

Does BBL HEROic hurt?

Most people sit through it easily. Nobody loves it, but nobody needs a break from it either. The chilled handpiece does most of the work of keeping you comfortable.

Why did my brown spots get darker after my BBL?

Because it worked. The light breaks up the pigment and pushes it to the surface, where it looks like coffee grounds for about 5 to 7 days before flaking off. This is the most common thing patients call us about. It's normal, and it's the treatment doing its job.

When will I see results?

Redness usually improves within days. Brown spots clear once they flake, so around day 7. If you're treating a lot of sun damage, the real difference shows up after your second or third treatment.

How long do BBL HEROic results last?

The spots we treat are gone. But you keep living in California, so new sun damage keeps arriving. Most patients come back once or twice a year to stay ahead of it.

Can I get BBL in the summer?

Yes, but you can't be tan going in, and you can't get tan afterward. If you have a beach trip coming up, book after, not before.

Can I wear makeup afterward?

Yes, same day for most people. Your skin will be warm and pink for 30 to 60 minutes. Wear sunscreen after. Actually wear it.

Will BBL work on my skin tone?

It depends. BBL works by targeting color, so the more contrast between your skin and the spot, the better it works and the safer it is. If you have a deeper skin tone, we use more conservative settings, and sometimes we'll recommend MOXI instead. We'll tell you at your consultation rather than after.

Am I a good candidate?

Most people are. Skip BBL if you're pregnant, have a fresh tan or sun exposure planned, take medication that makes you light-sensitive, or have taken Accutane recently. We'll walk through all of this at your complimentary consultation.

Can I add another laser in the same visit?

Yes. BBL pairs with MOXI and with HALO TRIBRID in a single appointment. BBL works on color: brown spots and redness. MOXI works under the surface on texture and brightness. Running them together covers both in one visit and one recovery window, and it's one of the most common things we do. If your skin is irritated, if you're new to lasers, or if you have a hard deadline coming up, we'll usually start with one and add the other later. Plan your recovery around the MOXI timeline, not the BBL one.

Is BBL the same as a facial?

No. A facial works on the surface. BBL works in the skin and changes what's actually there. They're not competitors. A lot of our patients do both.
